A perfect situation both for working in Madrid and for enjoying a holiday in the capital.
How to get the apartments
From the airport:
- By metro: from the airport, line 8 to Nuevos Ministerios. Change and take line 10 to Plaza de España station.
- By taxi: approximately 20 minutes.
From Atocha:
- By metro: from Atocha station, line 1 to Sol, then line 3 to Plaza de España.
- By taxi: depending on the traffic it will take approximately 15 minutes.

Plaza de España
You just have to cross the street from our apartments to enter one of the largest Plazas de España in the country (36,900 m2). Recently renovated and surrounded by gardens and trees, a large fountain dedicated to Miguel de Cervantes and his two most illustrious characters, Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, stands out in the center.
Above the whole complex, two enormous buildings draw attention; The Madrid Tower (1957) and the España Building (1953).
The renovation of the Plaza de España, the expansion of the sidewalks, the reduction of vehicle traffic and the improvement of the area with more green areas and spaces for pedestrians, create an environment conducive to enjoying peaceful, totally pedestrian walks, in the heart of the city. of the city such as those that lead to the Royal Palace or the Sabatini Gardens.
Furthermore, the location of the square could not be better, since two of the most emblematic streets of the capital meet there; Calle Princesa and the famous Gran Vía.
Gran Vía
Without a doubt we are facing one of the most significant and well-known streets in Madrid. There are many theaters and cinemas that have become «musical theater», the stretch between Plaza de Callao and Plaza de España being known as the Madrid Broadway.
Gran Vía also has restaurants and numerous fashion stores from national and international chains.
It is interesting to look at the buildings that make it up and that have different architectural styles (historicist, French-style, rationalist, American style…).
Temple of Debod
It is difficult to see Egyptian constructions outside the country if it is not in museums, but in Madrid, you can see the Temple of Debod, very close to Plaza de España; a construction gifted by Egypt in 1968 to help them save other temples during the lifting of the Aswan dam.
It was dismantled stone by stone and reassembled in the beautiful Parque del Oeste. You can visit the inside of the temple where you will find typical hieroglyphs preserved on the walls.
Almudena Cathedral
The Madrid Cathedral, one of the most modern cathedrals in European capitals (built between the 19th and 20th centuries) is just 800 meters from our apartments.
For this reason, it has a mixture of more current styles such as neoclassical, neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque.
The building is dedicated to Our Lady of Almudena, patron saint of the city, and it was consecrated in 1993 by Pope John Paul II during his fourth trip to Spain.
Royal Palace
In front of the Almudena Cathedral stands out the Royal Palace, built by Felipe V in the place where the old fortress stood.
Its 135,000 m2 and 3,418 rooms make it the largest Royal Palace in Western Europe.
It is surrounded by three beautiful parks; Plaza de Oriente, the Sabatini Gardens and the Campo del Moro garden.
Royal Theatre
The Royal Theater, one of the most important in Spain and Europe, closes the monumental complex of Plaza de Oriente.
It was inaugurated in 1850 although it has undergone several renovations over the years. Although it works primarily as an opera, other shows and events are also held.
Puerta de Sol
1.2 km separate us from the most restless square in Madrid, Puerta del Sol, where the coming and going of Madrilenians and tourists is almost constant at any time of the day.
It is usually a meeting point to go shopping, go out at night, or simply go for a walk or have a drink in the surroundings.
You will find the mythical statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree – El Oso y el Madroño– (symbol of Madrid), and an equestrian statue of Carlos III, here.
But undoubtedly, the most significant place in the square is the Casa de Correos and more specifically its famous clock, which with its chimes welcomes the new year every December 31st at 12 pm. Since 1950, Puerta del Sol has been the zero kilometer of Spanish radial roads.
Museums
Prado Museum, Thyssen Museum and Reina Sofía Museum: these three museums located on the Paseo del Prado form what is known as the Golden Triangle of Art. These are three essential art galleries that house a very extensive collection of pictorial works. For something they are among the most visited museums all around the world.
Many are the artists that you will see on its walls; In the Prado Museum, Goya, Velázquez and El Greco stand out, in the Reina Sofía Museum, Picasso, Dalí and Miró, and in the Thyssen, Duccio, Jan van Eyck, Roy Lichtenstein and Lucian Freud.
